Chai Club

Welcome to our place for Chai Club

The Chai Club was established as an arm of The Suburban Temple in l977. With the mergers of The Suburban Temple, Temple Judea, Temple Emanu-El of East Meadow, and now Temple Sinai, we number about 150 members. Membership in the Chai Club is open to anyone who has been a member of a Temple for more than 18 (Chai) years, or is at least 50 years old, or is married to someone who meets these requirements. Dues are only $18 per person per year.

The goal of the Chai Club is to promote common areas of interest in Judaism and in social activities. Although we are not a fundraising arm per se, our membership is very involved in Bingo, the Temple’s largest fundraiser. We are also strong supporters of the State of Israel Bond Program. We truly are a “fun” raising group.

The Club is governed by an active board of up to 24 dedicated members. Read our monthly column in The TBT VOICE to stay informed about our activities. Our programs include monthly general meetings where we have varied interesting programs, celebrate special occasions, and have delicious refreshments. Some highlights are:

  • A paid-up membership dinner
  • An annual trivia contest
  • A Passover second day seder for Temple members, their guests, and the community at large.

Many of our members remain involved and connected members of TBT through their membership in the Chai Club. If you are looking for your niche at TBT, maybe the Chai Club is where you belong!!! We hope so and we look forward to meeting you
