All choir members are volunteers.

Participating in the youth and teen choirs is an excellent opportunity for young people to begin preparation towards Bar and Bat Mitzvah.  The students learn to be comfortable in front of their congregation and helping to lead the service by singing the traditional Shabbat prayers.  Participating in choir also allows the choir members to perform mitzvot for their temple as well as to earn community service credits in their secular school.  In addition, choir members learn the importance of working as a team while strengthening friendships. All that is required to join is enthusiasm.

THE YOUTH CHOIR consists on youngsters grades three through seven.  Working with Cantor Steven Sher they practice throughout the school year.  They sing songs in Hebrew and English at the once a month Friday evening family service, high holiday family service and other holiday celebrations as well as with guest artists as part of the artist in residence series. They also perform at various senior residences throughout Long Island.  Participation in the youth choir allows for an easy transition to the teen choir.
